Things aren’t looking good for Kanye West right now. After being in the headlines this week for his controversial rants on stage and his generally erratic behaviour as of late, which subsequently led to him cancelling the remainder of his Saint Pablo Tour, we can’t say we didn’t see this coming. The rapper and father of two has reportedly been held on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
According to TMZ, Kanye’s personal physician called 911 around 1.20pm yesterday afternoon reporting a medical emergency. He described his patient as someone suffering from ‘temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.’ He also informed the dispatcher that although Kanye wasn’t violent, we could become violent if the police got involved. Kanye was then taken to UCLA Medical Centre where he was allegedly placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
The rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian, was in New York for her first official public appearance since being attacked in Paris, but ultimately cancelled her appearance and rushed back to LA to be by her husband’s side. We are wishing Kanye a speedy recovery and will keep you updated as this story develops.
