September is not just the beginning of the fashion year, it’s also the month where summer TV shows come to a wrap and the fall shows begin. In honour of this changing of the garter, here’s a look at some of TV’s most stylish women. I love that they are all hardworking, powerful and yet incredibly stylish. Maybe we can have it all.
Jessica Pearson – Suits
I really could list all the women from suits on here, costume designer Jolie Andreatta is killing it with the wardrobe. Every time I watch Jessica glide across the screen she makes me want to start my own international law firmed armed with that incredible wardrobe.
It’s not just the perfectly tailored clothes, everything from Chanel to Roksanda; Jessica also has arm-candy like almost no other woman on TV.
Leila Al-Fayed – Tyrant
When I see Leila, I think of Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar, especially when she wears her evening gowns in the daytime.
I must confess that I mainly watch the show for Leila’s character and her wardrobe is a major part of that character. You can tell that former model Moran Atias (A.K.A. Leila) is using all her fashion contacts to bring Leila to life.
Working alongside stylist Valeria Marchetti, they have a wardrobe that is reflective of the modern day Arab woman’s wardrobe. I mean Leila wears Couture for crying out loud!!!
Olivia Pope – Scandal
Remember what she did for Prada bags? She had women around the world obsessing over her Prada totes with people even asking for “Olivia’s bag”. To think that the bag nearly didn’t make it on the show, thankfully Kerry Washington “stole” Lyn Paolo’s personal bag.
Olivia’s wardrobe is designed to position Olivia as a financially stable fashionista hence the designer bags. As if the bag game was not enough, Olivia’s coat game almost makes you want winter. Here’s a look at some of my favourite Olivia moments.
Diane Lockart – The Good Wife
Diane is on here specifically for her bold jewellery from her statement necklaces to incredible brooches that just bring her outfit to life. In a male dominated world where women in business shy from feminine accents, Diane brings a classy approach to accessorising. Also her wardrobe reminds me of British Prime Minister Theresa May’s wardrobe.
