Who won, who was honoured and what did fashion’s elite wear?
The Fashion Awards got a facelift this year at London’s Royal Albert Hall and CTDS has a wrap up of all the highlights.
British Emerging Talent – Molly Goddard
CTDS says: A well deserved win, we love Molly Goddard the queen of tulle.
British Menswear Designer- Craig Green for Craig Green
CTDS says: We love that the BFC is breaking from the norm this year. Craig Green is one of those designers that pushes men to take risks with their clothes.
British Womenswear Designer – Simone Rocha for Simone
British Brand – Alexander McQueen – WINNER
CTDS says: Before the SS17 collection this would not have been our pick, we say this should have gone to Erdem or maybe even Christopher Kane.
International Business Leader – Marco Bizzarri for Gucci
CTDS says: This is so well deserved for the masterminds behind Gucci’s incredible turnaround.
International Urban Luxury Brand – Vetements
CTDS says: Obviously!!!
New Fashion Icons Award – Jaden and Willow Smith
CTDS says: We can’t tell if these kids are natural style icons or they’re being pushed down our throats. We love all the editorials (especially Willow’s recent editorial in Parisian Vogue), but maybe it’s too much to call them icons. What do you guys think?
International Model- Gigi Hadid
CTDS says: Nearly everyone in this category deserved it one-way or another. It’s fair to say 2016 was the year of Gigi, she was on every cat walk and every magazine cover.
International Accessories Designer – Alessandro Michele for Gucci
CTDS says: We have the longest Christmas shopping list from Gucci alone so this is definitely spot-on.
International Ready-To-Wear Designer – Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga
CTDS says: Demna is definitely shaking up the fashion industry.
Swarovski Award For Positive Change-Franca Sozzani (presented by Tom Ford)
Isabella Blow Award For Fashion Creator – Bruce Weber
Special Recognition Award – British Vogue
CTDS says: Did you guys catch the British Vogue documentary series on BBC? Can we say cringe?
Outstanding Achievement- Ralph Lauren
